Since this is a finance-driven league, we are trying to find ways to generate some additional revenue for all teams, playoff and non. Therefore, we have incorporated a playoff pool that each GM can have the opportunity to earn funds for their team by gambling on playoff series. Here are the details:
- Each team may participate, playoff and non.
- Selections for each playoff round must be made prior to that first game of the round or the selections are invalid.
- There will be gambling limits on each series per round.
- Each team can only be selected once per round.
- There will be a minimum and maximum amount of bets, dependent on round.
- Odds may change after each playoff round.
Round 1: (minimum of 1 bet, maximum of 8 bets)
Solo - 2/1 (max. $500,000 bet)
x2 Parlay - 7/5 (max. $700,000 bet)
x3 Parlay - 1/2 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
x4 Parlay - 1/3 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
x5 Parlay - 1/5 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
x6 Parlay - 1/8 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
x7 Parlay - 1/12 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
x8 Parlay - 1/18 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
Round 2: (minimum of 1 bet, maximum of 4 bets)
Solo - 7/5 (max. $700,000 bet)
x2 Parlay - 1/2 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
x3 Parlay - 1/3 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
x4 Parlay - 1/5 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
Round 3: (minimum of 1 bet, maximum of 2 bets)
Solo - 1/2 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
x2 Parlay - 1/3 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
Round 4: (minimum/maximum 1 bet)
Solo - 1/3 (max. $1,000,000 bet)
*** EXAMPLES ***
If the playoffs were to start today, the standings of the Wales Conference and Campbell Conference would look like this:
Wales Conference
#1 Pittsburgh vs. #8 Philadelphia
#2 Boston vs. #7 NYR
#3 Washington vs. #6 Quebec
#4 NYI vs. #5 New Jersey
Campbell Conference
#1 Edmonton vs. #8 Chicago
#2 Detroit vs. #7 Winnipeg
#3 Los Angeles vs. #6 Toronto
#4 Calgary vs. #5 Minnesota
For the first round, you have the option of making anywhere between 1-8 bets. However, as soon as you select one team in one bet, you cannot bet on that team in another separate bet. Therefore, if you choose to make only one bet in the first round, and decide to choose all the favourites, you will have an opportunity to bet $1,000,000 and could win $18,000,000 if ALL 8 selections are correct. However, you cannot make another bet for the first round of playoffs. If you decide to select Pittsburgh and Edmonton on x2 parlay, you can bet $700,000 to win $500,000 but you will not be able to select Pittsburgh or Edmonton in a separate bet again in the first round.
